LOCATION: 8700 block of Riggins Road, Phelan
SUSPECT(S): Scott Hammond, 47-years-old, Resident of West Covina
Brandon Cheney, 30-years-old, Resident of Muscoy
Marcel Taylor, 34-years-old, Resident of Phelan

SUMMARY:
On Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:39 a.m., deputies from Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 8700 block of Riggins Road, Phelan, after a reporting party observed multiple subjects breaking into her vacant residence.
Upon arrival, deputies located and contacted three subjects outside of the residence. All three were detained without incident. A search of the suspect’s vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma, led to the recovery of property stolen from the residence. The estimated value of the recovered property is approximately $2,650.
Further investigation revealed that earlier that evening, the same Toyota Tacoma was captured on surveillance video at a residence in the 8300 block of Icicle Drive in Pinon Hills. The suspects were seen disabling security cameras at the property. However, after the homeowner activated a Ring camera alarm, the suspects fled the area in the vehicle. No property was reported stolen from the residence.
All three suspects were arrested on the above charges and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
