On 02/25/2026 at 11;00 am, Officers were dispatched to 110 W. Cochran St. for a suspicious incident. The reporting party stated that a male subject was unloading what looked to be tools out of a pickup truck and hiding the tools in bushes to the rear of location. Officers arrived at the location and saw a male subject matching the description (provided by witnerss) walking away from the location.
Officers announced themselves and directed the male subject, later identified as Michael Fabricant, resident of Simi Valley, to come over to them.. Upon seeing the officers, Fabricant ran, jumped a wall from a surrounding business, and ran down to the railroad tracks (south of the area). A perimeter was established and Fabricant was later found hiding in a tent just east of the location. Fabricant was ultimately taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle that Fabricant had been removing tools from had been reported stolen from a residence in Simi Valley the day prior. .
Fabricant was booked at Ventura County Main Jail for, 10851 VC, 148(a)(1)PC, and 3 outstanding warrants issued out of Ventura County.
