* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. Visibilities reduced to under 1 mile.

* WHERE...Atka.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 3 PM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An extended period of rain or rain and snow with strong winds is expected for Atka. Rain will begin to mix with snow later this afternoon into this evening before transitioning to all snow late this evening. Periods of snow or a mix of rain and snow will continue through the end of the week, along with strong winds out of the west. Visibilities may be reduced to below 1 mile in periods of heavier snow.
