SUMMARY:
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at about 2:10 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel responded to the area of US Highway 395 and Sycamore Street for a vehicle that collided with a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian, Party #1, walked in lanes of north bound traffic on US Highway 395, south of Sycamore Street. A White Ford Pickup truck, driven by Party #2, drove north, on US Highway 395, towards Sycamore Street, and struck Party #1 south of the intersection. Several other vehicles collided with Party #1 after the initial crash.
Party #1 sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. Party #2 remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
US Highway 395 between Sycamore Street, and Eucalyptus Street, were closed for about five hours for the investigation.
