Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of February 16-22, 2026
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
Robberies
There were three robberies during the past week.
On Monday, 02-16-26, at approximately 8:46 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Macy’s at Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. A loss prevention specialist stated that he had received a call from the jewelry department manager requesting the presence of loss prevention staff. The loss prevention staff observed the manager show several watches to three suspects, who then left the store. A few minutes later, the suspects returned and asked to see more watches. One suspect was shown a watch and placed it on his wrist. The suspect then leaped onto the jewelry case and attempted to reach inside. The manager was able to close the case before the suspect could take any additional watches. The suspect then punched the loss prevention specialist, and all three suspects fled. This investigation is ongoing.
On Tuesday, 02-17-26, at approximately 2:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the food court at Serramonte Center on a report of a chain snatch. The victim stated that one of two suspects approached him and asked to use his cell phone. The victim told the suspect that he could not use his cell phone and looked away. Shortly after looking away, the suspect yanked the victim’s gold chain off his neck, and both suspects fled in a vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle and the suspects, both 16-year-old Vallejo residents, and arrested them for robbery. The gold chain was recovered from the vehicle. The first suspect was booked into the Youth Services Center, and the second suspect was released to a relative.
On Thursday, 02-19-26, at approximately 10:22 p.m., a victim had her cell phone forcefully taken by a known suspect. The cell phone was later returned. On 02-20-26, the suspect, a 21-year-old Hayward resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and other charges.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
