The Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking public input on which local transportation projects should receive a share of $19 million in available federal funding, and Ely has a project on the list. In partnership with Linn County, the proposed project would improve the Ely Road / Wright Brothers Blvd intersection with the addition of a roundabout and enhanced safety features at the nearby trail crossing.

If selected, federal funds could cover up to 80% of the project cost, creating a significant opportunity for a small community like Ely to advance a major safety improvement. Residents are encouraged to review the project list and complete the public survey to help guide MPO decision-makers on which projects should be funded.
