Meridian Police Investigate Fatal Crash Involving Scooter
MERIDIAN, ID –
On February 28, 2026 at about 11:00pm Meridian Police and emergency services personnel from the Meridian Fire Department and Ada County Paramedics were dispatched to a vehicle crash involving a male riding an electric scooter on W. Ustick Road near Settler’s Park. Multiple citizens, including some witnesses, stopped to render aid. Tragically, after life saving measures were performed, the male was pronounced deceased. Investigators determined two vehicles on scene had struck the male or the scooter. Witness testimony revealed the male may have also been stuck by one or more other vehicles that fled the area.
Members of Meridian Police Department’s crash reconstruction team are investigating the incident. At this time, it is unknown if the male was struck while riding in the roadway or if there was some other event which caused him to be incapacitated in the roadway prior to being struck. The male’s identity is currently unknown.
Two vehicles were seized from the scene, and their drivers are cooperating with investigators. One or more other vehicles may have already struck the male prior to these two according to witnesses.
