Summer Camp Registration Opens, Monday, 3/2
It's almost here!! Registration for all HP Rec Summer Camps opens at 6:00 am on Monday, March 2nd! All camp registration information can be found at highlandparkrec.com. Need to apply to receive the reduced resident weekly camp rate? Email your free/reduced eligibility letter to [email protected] and we'll help you with that process. Please keep in mind, that your account must be set up with the discount prior to registering or creating a pre-registration form.
Take Control of Your Health: Chronic Disease Self-Management, Wednesday’s, 3/4 through 4/8
Sign up today by calling 732-819-0052 for a FREE six week workshop on Taking Control of Your Health: Chronic Disease self-management at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South Sixth Avenue. This class runs for six weeks, March 4 to April 8, from 1:00 – 3:30 pm. This workshop will teach pain management, healthy eating, physical activity, relaxation techniques and how to deal with stress/anxiety.
Free Health Screenings, Friday, 3/6
American Preventative Screening and Education Association will be coming to the Highland Park Community Center on March 6th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am to offer free screenings including blood pressure check, blood glucose, BMI Body Composition, waist circumference, and grip strength as well as to share preventive health education.
Farmers Market Opening Day, Friday, 3/6
The HP Farmers Market returns next Friday, March 6 with a fantastic group of local farmers and food producers. The market is open every Friday through December 11th from 11:00 to 4:00 pm in, March, November and December and until 5:00 pm from April through October. Shop for farm fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal products, and more while supporting local businesses and enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.
Borough Council Meeting, Tuesday, 3/10 & 3/24
The Mayor and Council hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
Eco-Arts: Food Sustainability Workshops, Sunday, 3/15
We hear the word sustainable used often, but what does it really mean, how does it relate to our food systems and what does this have to do with art? Join us for an Eco Art workshop centered around sustainable food systems and reducing food waste, where we will dive into these topics and more! Facilitated by local artist Sonya Elefante, this event will be held 2:30 – 4:00 pm at the Highland Park Library, 31 North 5th Avenue. Please register In advance.
Free Tax Prep, Deadline: Thursday 3/24
If your annual income is $75,000 or less, you can get your taxes prepared free by a United Way IRS certified volunteer at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. To meet with a tax consultant in person, appointments are required, please call 732-819-0052. If you want to drop off your documents, no appointment is required, documents can be dropped off in a secured box located outside of the HP Community
Center.
Learn and Create Series, Saturday 3/28
The Highland Park Arts Commission invites you to participate in a Introduction to Argentine Tango: Movement, Music and Cultural Connection from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. No registration needed. Walk-ins welcome, this event is for ages 15+.

Join us for our annual Highland Park 5K Run in the Park (5K Race & Kids Races) on Sunday, May 3rd. Come take a run, walk or stroll through the downtown and beautiful neighborhoods of Highland Park, NJ for a great cause. Race proceeds to benefit the Highland Park Public Schools PTOs. Registration is open.
HP Spring Street Fair, Sunday 5/3
After the 5K Run in the Park, stick around for the annual Highland Park Spring Street Fair on Sunday May 3rd from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm in downtown Highland Park! Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, & 3/31 and Wednesdays 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, & 3/25
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday & Wednesday (except holidays) from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Zone 6/Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Highland Park Community Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 3/12 & 3/26 and Saturdays 3/14 & 3/28
The Highland Park Community Food Pantry distribution takes place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 9:00 to 10:45 am and 6:00 to 7:00 pm and on the second and fourth Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and winter programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
