Wilmington Police arrest woman following a vehicle collision investigation:
Wilmington Police have arrested a woman following a vehicle collision investigation.
On February 28th at approximately 9:51 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of West 4th Street and North Harrison Street in reference to a hit and run collision involving an injured pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old female in the roadway, and she was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officers located the suspect vehicle involved in a second collision in the area of West 4th Street and North Rodney Street. Officers located a second victim, a 39-year-old female, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Officers made contact with the driver of the suspect vehicle, 42-year-old Cheryl Clark, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to the Wilmington Police Departments Special Operations Traffic Unit. Through investigative measures Clark was determined to be under the influence of drugs and speeding at the time of the incident.
Clark has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic citations:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of Felony
- Vehicular Assault First Degree Driving Under the Influence
- Vehicular Assault Second Degree Driving Under the Influence
