Man, Seriously Injured in Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision at Hesperia Intersection

DATE/TIME:   March 3, 2026, at 3:28 a.m.

INCIDENT:   Major Injury Traffic Collision

LOCATION:   Main Street / Fifth Avenue, Hesperia, CA

VICTIM (1):  Male adult, 51-year-old, Resident of Hesperia

INVOLVED VEHICLE(1): White, Chevrolet Express 

SUMMARY: On March 3, 2026, at approximately 3:31 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia Station and personnel from San Bernardino County Fire responded to the intersection of Main Street and Fifth Avenue regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. 
 
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located an adult male in the roadway east of the intersection. The pedestrian was transported from the scene by emergency personnel and later airlifted to a local hospital due to his injuries. A white Chevrolet Express was located at the scene and found to be involved in the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet Express remained at the scene. 
 
The Hesperia Station’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and took over the investigation. Preliminary findings, based on the investigation and evidence at the scene, indicate that the adult male was on the east side of Fifth Avenue, walking his bicycle and dog northbound across Main Street. The Chevrolet Express was driving eastbound on Main Street. As the vehicle crossed the intersection of Fifth Avenue, the male adult and the dog were struck by the vehicle. The dog was located deceased at the scene. The cause of this collision remains ongoing and is under investigation.
