We wanted to pass along an important reminder from our recycling vendor, Blue Diamond Disposal, to help ensure our community's recycling efforts continue to run smoothly and effectively.
Please do not place your recyclables in plastic bags when setting them out for collection. Plastic bags can cause issues at the sorting facility—they often jam equipment, lead to contamination, or result in entire loads being diverted to landfill instead of being recycled at a cost to the Borough.
Instead, please place your clean recyclables (such as paper, cardboard, plastic bottles/jugs, glass, and metal cans) loose inside a closed recycling container (bin or tote) and set it at the curb on your scheduled collection day. This simple step helps the facility process materials efficiently and maximizes what actually gets recycled.
