Road Closures and Parking Restrictions for BOTH St. Patrick’s Day Parades – City of Albany, March 14, 2026
Both Parades Parking restrictions will be in place for the entirety of both parade routes.
North Albany Limerick Parade
The North Albany Limerick Parade route: Step Off 11:30AM
-The 2026 Limerick parade will follow a new route. The parade will start on Bridge Street and proceed west to Broadway, a right turn onto Broadway and continue north to the Menands Village Line; a left turn onto Wolfert Avenue; continue west on Wolfert Avenue to North Pearl Street where the parade will end at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Wolfert Avenue.
Road Closures: 10:30AM-1:30PM (or at conclusion of the parade by APD detail command)
-Broadway between Wolfert Ave and Loudonville Road.
-Bridge Street between Mill Street and Broadway.
-Mill Street between Tivoli Street and Mill Street.
- Emmett Street at Broadway.
- Albany Street at Broadway.
- Mohawk Street at Broadway.
- Genessee Street at Broadway.
- North First Street at Broadway.
-Erie Street at Broadway.
- South Street at Broadway
- Main Street at Broadway.
- Center Street at Broadway.
- North Second Street at Broadway.
- North Street at Broadway.
- North Third Street at Broadway.
- Lawn Avenue at Broadway.
- Bonheim Street at Broadway.
- Lindberg Avenue at Broadway.
- North Pearl Street at Lawn Avenue.
- Bonheim Street, eastbound at Broadway & eastbound and westbound at North Pearl Street.
- Lindbergh Avenue, eastbound at Broadway & eastbound and westbound at North Pearl Street.
Parking Restrictions: March 14, 2026 beginning at 8:00 AM-2:00 PM (Limerick Parade)
- North Pearl Street, both sides from Lawn Avenue to Wolfert Ave (Menands Line).
- Broadway, both sides from Loudonville Road to Wolfert Ave (Menands Line).
- Bridge Street, both sides from Broadway to Mill Street.
- Mill Street, both sides from Bridge Street to Tivoli Street.
Albany St. Patrick’s Day Parade Road Closures:
- Parade Staging & Lineup: • Starting at 8:00 AM, Central Avenue between Quail Street and Lexington Avenue will be closed for parade lineup.
- 9:00 AM The Parade Route will be closed to ALL Traffic.
- Henry Johnson Boulevard and Lark Street northbound and southbound will remain open to traffic until 12:30 PM.
- At 12:30 PM these two roadways will be closed and the entire parade route will remain closed until the completion of the parade.
Parade Route: 2:00 PM Parade Step Off:
-Central Avenue starting at Lexington Avenue, parade will proceed east on Central Avenue to Washington Avenue; east on Washington Avenue to State Street; east on State Street to James Street.
Road Closures:
- Central Avenue from Quail Street east to Washington Avenue
- Washington Avenue from Central Avenue east to Washington Avenue/Eagle Street/State Street.
- State Street from Washington Avenue/Eagle Street east to Broadway.
- In addition, ALL cross streets along the parade route will be closed in preparation for parade kick off. This will include Eagle Street as well as North and South Pearl Streets from Pine Street to Hudson Avenue.
Parking Restrictions:
- Central Avenue parking Lot #4 (Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue) all areas of this lot will be restricted March 14, 2026.
-Central Avenue, both sides from Quail Street to Lark Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Quail Street, both sides from Bradford Street to Sherman Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- North Lake Avenue, both sides from Bradford Street to Sherman Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Robin Street, both sides from Bradford Street to Sherman Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Lexington Avenue, both sides from Bradford Street to Sherman Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Washington Avenue, both sides from Lark Street to State Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Eagle Street, both sides side from State Street to Pine Street from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- State Street, North and South sides from Lark St east 3 spaces on each side from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- State Street, North and South sides from South Swan Street east to Plaza Road east of Legislative Office Building from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM (for buses).
- State Street, both sides from Eagle Street to Broadway from 6:00 AM -4:00 PM.
- Broadway, East and West sides from Pine Street to Hudson Avenue from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Green Street both sides from State Street to Madison Avenue from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Dallius Street, both sides from Hudson Avenue to Division Street from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- South Swan Street, east side from Madison Avenue to Washington Avenue from 6:00 AM-4:00 PM.
