...FREEZING RAIN & SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... .Rain during the morning transitions over to freezing rain, then a mix of freezing rain & snow Thursday afternoon into Saturday morning. Ice accumulations of around 0.1" will make roads & surface very slippery by late afternoon, and slick conditions will continue into Saturday morning when the freezing rain changes over to snow overnight. Snow accumulations of up to 3" are also expected in addition to the ice.
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southwest Minnesota.
* WHEN...From 3 PM Friday to 9 AM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening commute.
