Flood Warning until 11:00AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Ohio, including the following counties, Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, Vinton and Washington.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 438 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Athens, Jackson, Wellston, Pomeroy, Mcarthur, Albany, Racine, Coolville, Rutland, Lake Hope State Park, Forked Run State Park, New Haven, Mason, Tuppers Plains, Middleport, Chester, Hamden, Syracuse, Hartford City and Coalton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
