LOCATION: 18000 Institution Road, Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center/Work Release
SUSPECT(S): Jacob Kauffman, 54-years-old, Resident of Upland
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Jacob Kauffman arrived at the Work Release office to enroll into the Electronic Confinement Program. Deputies reviewed his commitment from the court and observed Kauffman was convicted of PC 311.11(a), Possession or Control of Child Pornography. His sentence was to serve 180 days in county jail; eligible for County Jail Weekend/Work Release program.
Deputies reviewed Kauffman's court paperwork and felony probation terms. Kauffman's probation terms stated to violate no law and included search and seizure terms for his electronic devices. Kauffman's terms also stated he could not own, use, or possess any form of sexually explicit movie videos, material, or devices.
Due to Kauffman's probation terms, deputies reviewed Kauffman's cellular phone and observed sexually explicit photographs attached to his emails. These photographs depicted images of nude females that appeared to be young in age.
The San Bernardino County Probation Department was contacted about the photographs and confirmed this was a clear violation of Kauffman's probation terms. Kauffman was arrested for the probation violation and booked at the Central Detention Center without further incident. The investigation is currently ongoing, awaiting further evidence results from Kauffman's cellular phone.
