Location: 1500 block of Bell Street
Incident: Shooting Investigation
On March 8, 2026, Amarillo Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Bell Street in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. Officers immediately rendered aid and until Amarillo Medical Services arrived. The injured male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
During the investigation, officers contacted another adult male involved in the incident. Preliminary information indicates the injured male approached the individual in a parking lot and produced a weapon. The individual discharged a firearm, striking the male.
This incident remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department.
