Narrative:

The Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation in conjunction with, Conejo Recreation and Park District and Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, representing District 42, would like to invite you to join us at the second annual Conejo Valley Disabilities Fair. The first annual Conejo Valley Disabilities Fair was a huge success with several hundred attendees!

The event will take place in the east parking lot of The Oaks Mall located at 350 W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.  Please see the attached image for a satellite image.

This is a free event designed to bring awareness to our disabled community along with their family and friends, about all the many wonderful opportunities and services available to them in and around the Conejo Valley. There will be a wide variety of over 70 vendors, who will be showcasing the services they provide, including employment opportunities, sports programs, education services, activities, caregiving, medical support, and disaster preparedness.

There will be many activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a DJ, dancing, bounce house, a photo booth, and face painting.

We will also have a touch-a-truck area highlighting many of the specialized teams and their equipment within the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, such as a helicopter from the Air Unit, SWAT, Bomb Squad, Tactical Response Team, K9, Search and Rescue, the Mobile Command Post, and the Mounted Unit. The Ventura County Fire Department will have a fire engine on display.

We want to extend a warm thank you to our community partners whose generous donations have made this event possible. Thank you, UCLA Health, Shaver Auto, Rusnak Westlake, and O’Gara. A special thank you to Von’s, Lions Clubs of Conejo Valley, and Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks, who will be providing and preparing the food and dessert for the event.
