Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the pictured male in connection with a package theft that occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2025.
A victim reported to Police that a package delivered to a residence at Melrose Avenue near Grove Terrace was stolen at at approximately 6 p.m. Surviellance footage depicts the suspect traveling northbound on Melrose Avenue while riding a bicycle. The suspect entered the victim’s driveway and took the package from the front porch before fleeing northbound on Melrose Avenue.
The stolen package, from Fashion Nova, included a pair of boy’s jeans, boy’s khaki pants, boy’s and girl’s pajamas, sweatpants, a dress, and a pair of heels. The value of the stolen package was $296.00.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Black male, wearing eyeglasses, a hooded black jacket with a white design on the chest, shoulders, and arms, gray pants, and white sneakers.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the identity of either suspect or the whereabouts of the suspects’ vehicle to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
