Suspect Arrested for Assault After Striking a Victim and Becoming Combative with Deputies in Needles



DATE/TIME: Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 1:41 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 148(A)(1)- Obstructing/Resisting Police Officer
PC 240-Assault on a Person
PC 3056 - Violation of Parole

LOCATION: 3rd Street and H Street, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Emiliano Castillo, 39-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA

VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL


SUMMARY: On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 1:41 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to a report of an assault that just occurred near 3rd Street and H Street, in Needles.  

Upon arrival, deputies contacted the involved parties and began an investigation into the incident.  During the investigation, it was determined the suspect, identified as Emiliano Castillo, initiated a confrontation with two victims.  During the altercation, Castillo attempted to strike one of the victims and during the same incident struck the second victim multiple times.
 
As a result of the investigation, Castillo was placed under arrest.  While being taken into custody, he became uncooperative with deputies and was both physically and verbally combative.  Castillo was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.   Castillo was determined to be on parole and a parole violation was issued at the time of the arrest.  He was transported and booked at the Colorado River Station jail and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail, awaiting a court hearing. This investigation is ongoing.
