Deputies Arrest Man After Leading Deputies on a Pursuit While a Child was Inside the Suspect's Vehicle

LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Mariposa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Bryan Espinoza, 32-year-old resident of Upland
Grace Caron, 23-year-old resident of Upland
Marco Antonio Herrera, 29-year-old resident of Los Angeles
SUMMARY: On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputy C. Rummel and Deputy A. Arzola from the Victorville Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop after observing a van commit several California Vehicle Code violations.
The driver of the van failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit through Victorville and Hesperia. The pursuit ended at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Main Street when the van collided with another motorist. Following the collision, two occupants fled on foot. Deputies pursued the suspects and detained them. The driver, Bryan Espinoza, was arrested without further incident.
Deputies discovered a one-year-old infant and the child’s mother, Grace Caron, inside the vehicle. Both sustained minor injuries. The uninvolved motorist involved in the collision complained of pain but declined medical transport.
The driver, Bryan Espinoza, was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, V.C. 2800.3 – Failure to Yield Causing Injury or Death, P.C. 273A(a) – Child Abuse, P.C. 182(A)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. The other suspect who fled on foot, Marco Antonio Herrera, along with Grace Cameron and the child were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. A report will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for review.
