Two Firearms Recovered During OPD Human Trafficking Enforcement

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is continuing our enforcement efforts along International Boulevard to address human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, which have had a major impact on this area.

In the latest investigation on March 10, 2026, OPD arrested two men from Washington State for loitering with the intent to purchase commercial sex. Officers also recovered two firearms that were in their possession.

So far this year, 73 people have been arrested in targeted investigations against human trafficking. These efforts are meant to reduce trafficking along International Boulevard by holding sex buyers responsible, stopping commercial sexual exploitation, and making the area safer.

In addition to enforcement, OPD also focuses on helping people who are being exploited by connecting them with services and resources to support their safety and well-being.

OPD is committed to working with community members, advocacy partners, and service providers to address human trafficking, support victims, and improve safety throughout Oakland.

If you have information about human trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation, please call the Human Trafficking Hotline at (510) 238-2373.
