...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM THURSDAY FOR MUCH OF NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO DUE TO GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY EVENING OVER THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS DUE TO GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Critical fire weather conditions will develop this afternoon east of the central mountain chain due to well above average temperatures, deep atmospheric mixing, gusty westerly winds, very low humidity values, and dry fuels. This includes Interstate 40 from Clines Corners eastward to the Texas border and areas along and east of the Interstate 25 corridor from Glorieta northward to the Colorado border. Gusty winds will redevelop over the central highlands on Friday, particularly over the central highlands from Clines Corners to Santa Rosa. Temperatures will climb a few degrees more with very low humidity also redeveloping Friday. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire Weather Watch...which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.
* AREA AND TIMING...The Central Highlands (Zone 125) from noon through 8 PM Thursday and again from 11 AM through 9 PM Friday.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West northwest 25 to 35 mph with occasional gusts up to 45 mph both today and again on Friday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 9 and 13 percent today and between 6 and 10 percent on Friday.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
