The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) would like to inform the community that the playground at Petworth Recreation Center (801 Taylor Street, NW) will be temporarily closed for a few hours on Friday, March 13, 2026.
This short closure is necessary so crews can safely remove a potentially hazardous pole located within the playground area. Work will take place during daytime hours, and the playground will reopen as soon as the removal is complete. The recreation center building will remain open during this time.
