DPR has several exciting community events taking place TODAY and Saturday.
With DCPS out of school TODAY, Friday, March 13, DPR is offering:
- Day of Play at Anacostia Recreation Center at Ketcham from 2 pm – 7 pm. There will be activities for youth, adults, and seniors, including arts & crafts, games, concessions, inflatables, and an OUTDOOR MOVIE showing at 5 pm.
- All day today, FREE skating and rentals at Fort Dupont Ice Arena. Friday evening, residents can enjoy Disco Fever Ice Skating Night at Fort Dupont Ice Arena from 6 pm – 8 pm.
- Takoma Indoor Pool has REOPENED after annual maintenance and locker room upgrades. DC residents swim for free at Takoma or any of DPR’s indoor pools.
Saturday, March 14, 2026 events:
- On Saturday, March 14, take advantage of a truly unique opportunity to see the U.S. Botanic Garden Production Facility in Ward 8. The annual Community Day 2026 will take place starting at 10 am and includes a shuttle to/from Anacostia Metro and Bald Eagle Recreation Center.
- Also on Saturday, check out the talented young cheer and dance athletes at DPR’s Cheer and Dance Showcase starting at 10:00 am (doors open at 8:30 am) at Ballou High School.
- Finally, get in the mood for march madness with DPR 6U Basketball Championship Bash at Kenilworth Recreation Center starting at 10 am.
