...A BAND OF ORGANIZED SHOWERS WILL MOVE OVER SOUTHERN PANHANDLE THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY... .A weakening area of low pressure just west of southern Baranof Island will continue drifting to the south through tonight. On the east side of this low pressure system, bands of snowfall will move southwest to northeast across the southern Alaska Panhandle. While the snow is not expected to make travel difficult, slick roads and periods of reduced visibility could briefly impact travel by land or air through this evening. The snow showers should become less numerous as the evening progresses and the area of low pressure weakens.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
* WHERE...Ketchikan Gateway Borough.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.
