Flood Warning until 05:00AM Saturday

...The National Weather Service in Portland OR has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oregon... Wilson River near Tillamook affecting Tillamook County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wilson River near Tillamook.

* WHEN...From this evening until further notice.

* IMPACTS...Above 14.0 feet, widespread lowland and dairy land flooding begins along the Wilson River downstream of the river gage at Highway 6 mile post 6. Flooding also begins along sloughs, mainly Dougherty, north of Tillamook from Wilson River Loop Road west to Hwy 101 and along Makinster Road west of Hwy 101. Minor flooding begins in the north Tillamook business district along Hwy 101, particularly during high tide.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:30 PM PDT Friday the stage was 10.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.5 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this evening to 13.0 feet late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by late tonight at 500 AM PDT.
