INCIDENT: Fatal Crash
LOCATION: U.S. Highway 395/Mojave Drive
VICTIM(S): Miguel Escobar, 24-year-old Male Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at approximately 9:06 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station along with the Victorville Fire Department responded to the area of U.S. Highway 395 and Mojave Drive for a semi-truck versus motorcycle crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle rider, later identified as Miguel Escobar, drove westbound on Mojave Drive. A semi-truck, driven by Francisco Casillas, drove northbound on U.S. Highway 395. Escobar failed to stop at the solid red light for westbound traffic. Escobar collided with the rear partition of the semi-truck. Escobar was pronounced deceased on scene. Casillas cooperated with the investigation and preliminary investigation revealed no criminal element. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
U.S. Highway 395 and Mojave Drive was closed for about four hours for the investigation.
