The Spotswood Division of Senior Services has teamed up with Robert Wood Johnson's Empowering Seniors Fall Prevention Network (RWJ ESFPN) ro provide FREE home safety assessments to Spotswood residents 55 and over.
- Assessments will be held on the following dates: March 27 and 31, April 3 6, 10, 13, 14, 16, 21, and 27.
- Assessments last approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of the home.
- Resident must be home at the time of the assessment.
- Tripping hazards will be identified both in and outside the home.
- RWJ may be able to assist with the purchase of recommended home safety items.
In addition, grant funding is available to also assist with the cost of repairing or installing safety improvements recommended by RWJ.
- You must meet the qualifications of the grant (see attached flyer).
- Preference will be given to those who have not applied for home safety grant funding in the past.
- You do NOT need to apply for a grant in order to have the assessment done. However you must have the assessment done in order to apply for the grant.
- Application deadline has been revised and is now May 31, 2026.
A maximum of 30 homes will be assessed and appointments made on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 732-251-3432 to schedule your appointment. Grant applications are available through the Spotswood Senior Center (in person or via email) or on the Division of Senior Services page of the Spotswood Borough website.
