Winter Weather Advisory until 01:00PM Tuesday

...HIT OR MISS SNOW SHOWERS CONTINUE THROUGH MID WEEK.. A stationary low in the northern Gulf of Alaska will send several bands of snow showers across the northern and central panhandle through the week. These snow showers will continue to be isolated to scattered in nature, producing widely variable accumulations over short distances. A more organized band of showers is expected to push into portions of the northern and central panhandle by Monday night into Tuesday morning. The Winter Weather Advisories could be upgraded to Winter Storm Warnings if heavier snow showers continue over the same area.

* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Yakutat.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM AKDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel by land and air could be impacted.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Bands of snow showers that were offshore will push into the northeast Gulf coast Monday evening into Tuesday morning with an additional 3 to 6 inches of snowfall. Due to the hit or miss nature of snow showers, accumulations will be highly variable across short distances.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CITY AND BOROUGH OF YAKUTAT
