At 109 AM CDT, NWS meteorologists were tracking a narrow, one mile wide, band of heavy snow stretching from Lily Lake to Peotone. The orientation and southeastward motion of the band is leading to the same locations being stuck under the band for 30 minutes or more. HAZARD...Rapidly changing conditions, with visibility below one half of a mile and quick accumulations of snow on roadways. The worst conditions are expected from the north side of Aurora through Naperville, Bolingbrook, Lockport, and New Lenox. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...The combination of localized low visibility and quick accumulations on roadways will lead to localized hazardous travel conditions. Locations impacted include... Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Plainfield, St. Charles, Oswego, West Chicago, Batavia, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Geneva, Mokena, Bourbonnais, Frankfort, Yorkville, Bradley, Channahon, Campton Hills, Minooka, Plano, Manteno, and Peotone.
