INCIDENT: PC 496(a) - Possession of Stolen Property
PC 30305(a)(1) - Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
LOCATION: 56000 Block of Navajo Trail, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Kerry Steward, 36-year-old, Resident of Yucca Valley.
VICTIM(S): Confidential, Resident of Yucca Valley.
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at approximately 10:14 a.m., Morongo Basin Station deputies responded to a reported burglary in the 7400 block of Desert Sky Drive in Yucca Valley. The site superintendent reported that two conex storage containers had been forcibly entered, resulting in the theft of construction equipment and materials designated for new development.
Following an investigation, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Morongo Basin Station deputies and detectives served search warrants at a residence on the 56000 block of Navajo Trail in Yucca Valley, as well as a storage unit on the 7300 block of Hopi Trail. The warrants were served as a result of the Desert Vista Village investigation.
During the service of the search warrants, Kerry Steward, was located and taken into custody without incident. In addition, investigators recovered approximately $3,557 worth of stolen property, along with ammunition.
Steward was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for violations of Penal Code sections 496(a) – Possession of Stolen Property, and 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
