Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of March 9-15, 2026
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
Robberies
There were two robberies and one attempted robbery during the past week.
On Wednesday, 03-11-26, at approximately 7:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to Westlake Center on a report of a robbery. The victim met with the suspect to sell a gold rosary necklace. During the meeting, the suspect asked to try on the necklace. After putting it on, the suspect sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray and fled in a silver vehicle. The victim described the suspect as a slim Hispanic male, approximately 20 to 23 years old, 5’10” to 6’0” tall, with a light to medium complexion and tattoos on his left arm or hand. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black jacket, and beige pants. This investigation is ongoing.
On Friday, 03-13-26, at approximately 12:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to Escuela Drive and Southgate Avenue on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that she was walking when a cream or white-colored small SUV stopped alongside her, and a female suspect exited the vehicle. The suspect attempted to place money into the victim’s hands, and the victim tried to decline and return it. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s gold necklace and pulled it off her neck as the victim tried to hold onto it. The suspect reentered the vehicle, which was driven by a male suspect, and fled southbound on Escuela Drive. The suspect was described as a heavyset Middle Eastern female in her 60s, wearing a blue top and black pants. The driver was described as a clean-shaven Middle Eastern male wearing a white shirt. When asked if the female suspect had left any additional items with her, the victim presented $40, AirPods, a gold-colored ring, and two gold-colored necklaces. This investigation is ongoing.
On Saturday, 03-14-26, at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of John Glenn Circle on a report of an attempted robbery. The victim stated that while he was doing yard work, he noticed a suspect standing in the driveway. The victim approached the suspect, who asked to speak with an individual. The victim did not know this person and pointed toward a few houses down. The victim believed that, at this time, the suspect noticed a Rolex watch on his wrist. The suspect thanked the victim and attempted to shake his hand. The victim reciprocated and attempted to shake the suspect’s hand. At this moment, the suspect grabbed the victim’s left wrist and tried to give him a sealed box of AirPods and $7. The victim refused the items and pushed them back toward the suspect, causing them to fall to the ground. The victim pulled his hand back and began yelling for help. He was eventually able to break the suspect’s grasp. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s right wrist and wedged his finger between the victim’s wrist and watch band. During this struggle, the watch band broke off the victim’s wrist, and the watch fell to the ground. The victim’s wife, who heard the victim yelling for help, exited the front door, and the suspect fled in a black SUV. Through investigation, the suspect, a 31-year-old Houston, Texas resident, was arrested and booked into jail for attempted robbery and an additional offense.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
