LASD Women Empowering Women 2026 Symposium - Are You Ready?

Are you a woman who dreamed about having a career in Law Enforcement? Do you have questions about what to expect during the application process? Well, this is the perfect opportunity to get your questions answered! Visit us this weekend and meet woman working various assignments throughout the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

In February 2023, The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department made a commitment to participate in the 30 by 30 pledge, a series of no or low-cost actions that law enforcement agencies can take to improve the representation and experiences of women in sworn positions in all ranks. The goal is to increase the representation of women in recruit classes to 30% by 2030 and to ensure that police policies and culture intentionally support the success of qualified women throughout their careers. To help support this initiative, the LASD Recruitment Unit is hosting a major recruitment event for female applicants. The 2026 Women's Recruitment Symposium is themed "Women Empowering Women. Are you Ready?" The event will take place this Saturday at Biscailuz Training Center gymnasium (1060 N. Eastern Ave, Los Angeles, Ca 90063) on March 21, 2026, from 11:00am-2:00pm.

This event is free and is designed to attract future women leaders interested in a career with our Department. This unique event will highlight women in our Department, both sworn and professional (non-sworn) staff and is focused on finding potential female applicants. Undersheriff Tardy is scheduled to headline the event and will give opening remarks. A panel of experienced Department members will provide insight into their respective careers and speak about various topics such as the hiring process, promotions, and the diverse job opportunities the department offers. A question-and-answer session will take place, and attendees will have an opportunity to talk directly with women from LASD.

Come out to hear how the women of the world's largest Sheriff's Department continue to break barriers and play vital roles in protecting our communities while upholding our tradition of service.

This is a family-friendly event and is open to the public.
