North Shore Evacuation UPDATE:

Officials continue to monitor weather conditions across the island. At this time, our focus remains on ensuring the safety of Oʻahu residents, especially those in areas that continue to be vulnerable to flood impacts. Isolated showers with rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are possible this afternoon, and again late tonight/early Sunday. Flash flooding remains a threat as the ground is extremely saturated.

An evacuation order remains in place for residents in Waialua and Haleʻiwa. Evacuation and shelter map: https://p.veoci.com/hnlevac

Department of Customer Services (CSD)

Customers who had their appointments canceled Friday, March 20, are asked to return to the same Satellite City Hall next week with proof that they had scheduled an appointment. Their reservations will be honored. Driver’s license renewals will also occur Saturday, March 28 at select locations. More information is available at www.honolulu.gov/csd

Department of Environmental Services (ENV)

All refuse convenience centers, transfer stations, and the Waimānalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill will remain closed to the public on Saturday, March 21 due to ongoing severe weather conditions.

Regular curbside refuse collection for Waialua is suspended until Sunday, March 22, due to severe weather conditions impacting Oʻahu. Curbside collection of gray, blue and green carts in all other areas on the island will continue on its normal schedule unless otherwise announced. Residents are still encouraged to leave their bins out to be collected when resources are available.

Residents are also asked to reduce strain on pump stations and treatment facilities to lower the risk of sewer overflows. Do not drain floodwater or street runoff into sewer manholes, as this can overwhelm the system.

Board of Water Supply (BWS)

BWS urges all residents to continue to conserve water and use it for essential uses only – drinking, cooking and hygiene. All residents, especially those without power, should keep water use to an absolute minimum and should not fill containers at this time.

Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR)

CLOSURES: Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, all Honolulu Botanical Gardens, and several play fields including Patsy T. Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park.

SUSPENSION: All permitted camping through March 26, 2026. Regularly permitted park activities, programs, and phone access for recreation staff are suspended as park staff assist with emergency operations.

Department of Enterprise Services (DES)

The Honolulu Zoo and all six municipal golf courses are closed Saturday.
