The Monroe Township Police Department has received multiple reports this morning and afternoon of vehicles being entered and burglarized overnight in the southwest area of the township, primarily in neighborhoods off Applegarth Road. All reported vehicles were left unlocked at the time of the incidents.
While officers are increasing patrols throughout residential areas, we respectfully remind residents to take the following precautions to help prevent theft:
- Always lock your vehicle doors
- Remove keys and key fobs before exiting
- Do not leave vehicles running unattended
- Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
- Remove valuables from plain view
- Ensure keys and key fobs are not left inside the vehicle
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately by dialing 911.
