Herrontown Road will be closed tonight from 8pm to 6am between Snowden Lane and Poor Farm Road to allow frogs and salamanders to safely reach their vernal pools.
These "keystone species" play a vital role in our local ecosystems, and this short migration period is critical for their survival. Please use detours via Terhune Road or Blue Spring Road, and avoid walking on the closed roadway.
This closure will occur several times throughout the Spring to allow for safe salamander and frog road crossings.
