The Green Bay Police Department (GBPD), in coordination with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD), continues to investigate the cause of a tour-style bus crash that occurred on Sunday, March 22, 2026, resulting in injuries to 33 people.

First responders were dispatched to the scene just before 2:45 p.m. following a report that a bus carrying 54 people exited northbound I-43 onto North Webster Avenue, crossed the roadway, and went over an embankment.

Passengers on the bus, which was traveling from Chicago to a casino in Michigan, were either transported to one of four local hospitals for medical treatment or taken to a reunification center established at The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center, 1315 Lime Kiln Road, Green Bay.

Individuals seeking to contact someone who was on the bus should call 211.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with a vehicle inspection to identify any potential mechanical defects.

The GBPD will determine whether to refer charges against the bus driver.

The GBPD and GBMFD extend our appreciation to the many local first responders from surrounding agencies who assisted at the scene.
