The Janesville Police Department, in collaboration with the Saint Williams School and the Evansville School District, will conduct a multi-agency Active Threat training. On Tuesday, 3/24/26, training will take place at the Saint Williams School campus, including the church. The following day, Wednesday, 3/25/26, training will take place at the Evansville High School. The training will be from 5:00 AM until 5:00 PM both days.
Utilizing best practice concepts developed at the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University, officers under the guidance of ALERRT instructors from the Janesville Police Department, the Beloit Police Department, the Rock County Sherriff’s Office, and the Evansville Police Department, will undergo scenario-based training simulations. The goal of the training is to enhance area law enforcement preparedness and response to active threat response in our community.
Citizens should expect to see an increase in law enforcement personnel. We will also be using blank pistols that make a loud sound. Please do not be alarmed as we use this to make the training as realistic as possible. We also ask that you please avoid the training sites during the times of the training. Thank you for your cooperation.
