Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man in connection to an assault incident.
On March 19th at approximately 7:24 a.m., a member of the Special Operations Division responded to the unit block of West 11th Street in reference to an assault that occurred. Officers conducted an area canvass and located a subject matching the description in the area of West 7th Street and North Market Street. Officers made contact with 41-year-old Damien Palumbo and took him into custody, after he resisted arrest. Officers confirmed Palumbo was currently wanted for an outstanding warrant out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Palumbo was charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (Third Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Trespass (Second Degree)
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $8,000 cash-only bail. He will also be extradited for his outstanding warrant.
