Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to February 23rd shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a February 23rd shooting incident.
On February 23rd at approximately 7:56 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of West 4th Street and North Scott Street in reference to a shooting incident. Police located two gunshot victims who arrived at the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman identified 48-year-old Terry Walley as the shooting suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On March 19th, Walley turned himself in at the Wilmington Police Department and was taken into custody without incident.
Walley was charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)- Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony- Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Unlawful Imprisonment (First Degree)
- Discharging a Firearm on a Street
