The Culver City Police Department is proud to recognize Officer Crosby and his partner, K-9 Kohu, following an outstanding performance at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department K-9 Trials, where more than 80 K-9 teams from across the country competed in a two-day, scenario-based competition.
Officer Crosby and K-9 Kohu demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and teamwork, earning top placements in several highly competitive categories:
- Toughest Dog – 1st Place
- Tactical Obedience – 1st Place
- Top Overall Dog – 3rd Place
- Explosive Detection – 4th Place
These results highlight the strong partnership between Officer Crosby and K-9 Kohu and the high level of training and professionalism required to compete among the nation’s top K-9 teams.
Notably, this marks back-to-back success for Culver City’s K- 9 Unit at the same competition. Last year, K-9 Storm and his partner, Officer Salazar, earned top honors in the “Toughest Dog” category, further demonstrating the dedication of the CCPD’s K-9 program.
“K-9 Kohu and Officer Crosby’s performance is a reflection of the dedication, discipline, and teamwork that define our department,” said Culver City Police Chief Jason Sims. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the way they represented Culver City on a national stage.”
Two-year-old K-9 Kohu is the newest addition to the K-9 Unit and serves as an explosives-detection K-9, playing a critical role in protecting the community during major events, investigations, and daily public safety operations. Competitions like the Las Vegas Metro K-9 Trials test the real-world skills these teams rely on every day.
The Culver City Police Department congratulates Officer Crosby and K-9 Kohu on their impressive achievements and thanks them for their continued commitment to keeping the community safe.
