Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating Nahji Mayes, 29, of Newark, wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday, March 20, 2026.
At approximately 8:46 p.m., Police responded to Baldwin Avenue near Clinton Avenue on a call of a shooting. Responding Officers located a man who had been shot. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment, and he is reportedly in stable condition.
Detectives investigating this incident seek Mr. Mayes for questioning.
