DECEDENT: Chris Allan Robinson, 69-year-old Transient
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Specialized Investigations Division began an investigation after an inmate at the West Valley Detention Center died while in custody.
Chris Allan Robinson had been arrested in Riverside for an outstanding felony warrant out of San Bernardino County and was transported to the West Valley Detention Center for housing on February 16, 2026.
Robinson was suffering from a serious medical condition, was housed in a medical unit, and was receiving treatment throughout his incarceration.
On Friday, February 28, 2026, Robinson was transported to the hospital for continued care as his condition worsened and was admitted into the hospital where he remained until he was pronounced deceased on March 24, 2026.
