On Friday, March 13, 2026, members of the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) initiated a high-speed pursuit of a motorcycle. During the pursuit, the rider drove in a reckless and dangerous manner, creating a significant risk to public safety with potentially deadly consequences. The pursuit was ultimately terminated after officers lost sight of the motorcycle when it ran a red light near the intersection of Madera Road and Easy Street while traveling at speeds of up to 90 mph.

On the morning of March 26, 2026, Chance Taylor Williams, 29, a resident of Simi Valley, was taken into custody by members of the Special Enforcement Team and members of the Simi Valley Police Department’s Traffic Bureau. He was subsequently transported to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office East Valley Jail, where he was booked for felony evading in violation of California Vehicle Code section 2800.2(a).

Following Williams’ arrest, the motorcycle involved in the pursuit was located at a hangar at Camarillo Airport and seized pursuant to a judicial seizure order. Under California Vehicle Code section 14602.7, the motorcycle may be stored for up to 30 days, with the owner responsible for all associated administrative, storage, and towing fees.
