INCIDENT: PC 246.3(b) – Discharge a BB Device in a Grossly Negligent Manner

SUSPECT 1: Male Juvenile, 17-year-old resident of Yucaipa
SUSPECT 2: Josiah Quatman, 18-year-old residence of Yucaipa
VEHICLE: White 1998 Ford Ranger w /extended cab
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m., Yucaipa Station deputies responded to Yucaipa Boulevard and 5th Street regarding reports of several male subjects in a white lifted pickup truck firing a BB gun at motor vehicles. One victim, a female motorist, reported that a white lifted pickup truck pulled alongside her vehicle, and the driver fired what she believed were several BBs, one of which went through an open window and struck her in the face.
During the investigation, additional 911 calls were made referencing the same vehicle shooting at passing vehicles with a BB gun. A second victim reported a white Ford Ranger pickup drove alongside her vehicle as she traveled west on Yucaipa Boulevard, and the driver fired multiple BBs into her vehicle. The victim obtained the license plate number and immediately contacted law enforcement.
Deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle near Yucaipa Boulevard and 16 Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 17-year-old juvenile, and his adult passenger, Josiah Quatman, were detained without incident.
During the traffic stop, one X-Shot Hyper Gel air rifle, along with dehydrated gel pellets, was found inside the vehicle. The juvenile driver was identified as the primary suspect and was taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
