San Mateo, CA – On March 25, 2026, at approximately 1:54 p.m., officers from the San Mateo Police Department responded to Lululemon, located at 17 Hillsdale Mall, for a reported theft in progress.
The suspect, identified as Jamir Ortiz, allegedly stole multiple items and concealed them under his clothing. An arriving officer observed Ortiz walking away from the location and detained him after he matched the description provided by the reporting party.
During the detention, officers recovered multiple Lululemon items totaling $1,287.00. Ortiz is also suspected in several prior Lululemon thefts, with total reported losses exceeding $3,500.00.
Ortiz was placed under arrest and transported to the San Mateo County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of grand theft.
