Calvin Drive Fire Update – Nebo Community
The fire on Calvin Drive in the Nebo community is now 100% contained. The fire burned an estimated 3.5 acres, according to the North Carolina Forest Service.
Multiple agencies responded and worked together to successfully contain the fire, including Nebo Fire Department, Dysartsville Fire Department, Marion Fire Department, Hudlow Fire Department, Glen Alpine Fire Department, Brendletown Fire Department, Longtown Fire Department, West End Fire Department, McDowell EMS, McDowell Emergency Management, North Carolina Forest Service, McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
A statewide burn ban remains in place. Outdoor burning is not permitted. Report all outside fires by dialing 911.
