Wilmington Police arrest male juvenile in connection to a shots fired incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile in connection to a shots fired incident following an investigation.
On March 25th at approximately 11:05 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1600 block of West 6th Street in reference to a shots fired incident. Officers observed two male juveniles fleeing the area in the 500 block of North Scott Street. Officers attempted to make contact with the juveniles, at which time one of the juveniles fled the area on foot. A short time later the 17-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody without further incident. Officers recovered a loaded .9mm handgun.
Through the course of the investigation officers determined that two unknown suspects fired multiple rounds towards the two male juveniles. The 17-year-old male juvenile then returned fire.
The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Two Counts
- Possession of a Weapon with a Obliterated Serial Number
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
