April - Distracted Driving Awareness Month
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Throughout the month of April, the Muskegon Police Department will have additional officers on patrol targeting distracted driving violations.
Distracted driving remains a preventable cause of traffic crashes and injuries. In Muskegon County, there were 4,640 traffic crashes in 2024, resulting in 806 injuries and 19 fatalities, highlighting the ongoing risks on our roadways.
Our goal is simple: keep our community safe. Officers will be actively looking for drivers who are texting, using handheld devices, or otherwise not fully focused on driving.
Put the phone away, stay alert, and help keep Muskegon’s roads safe for everyone.
