Wilmington Police have arrested two men on drug charges.
On March 26th at approximately 11:55 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 500 block of West 7th Street when they observed two male subjects engaged in a drug-related activity. Officers made contact with 34-year-old Daywan Wright and 22-year-old Kanye Purnell, both were taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered 2.9 grams of crack cocaine and 27.5 grams of marijuana.
Wright has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver- Two Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
Purnell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver- Two Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
